(formerly “Traveling Jam Pot”)
Due: Dec. 15, 2026
Every year ASECS members generously replenish the Graduate Student Conference Support Fund (formerly the “Traveling Jam Pot”), a fund that supports participation in the Annual Meeting by ABDs and PhDs within a year of receipt of the doctoral degree.
Awardees may receive free or reduced conference registration, as well as the possibility of one night at the conference hotel.
The number of Graduate Student Conference Support awards granted each year depends on the amount contributed to the fund.
Applications for the Graduate Student Conference Support Fund must include:
- Personal Statement (max. 300 words): In addition to explaining their financial need, applicants are invited to describe their academic projects, interest in the ASECS organization, and/or plans for participation in the meeting (please, be sure to include anticipated graduation date);
- C.V.
- Abstract of presentation accepted to the annual meeting.
Only current members of ASECS are eligible for Graduate Student Conference (GSC) support funding. Graduate student members are not eligible to receive more than one Conference Support award.
