George E. Haggerty Prize in LGBTQ+ Studies in Eighteenth-Century Scholarship

George E. Haggerty (1949-2023) was a groundbreaking scholar of queer eighteenth-century studies whose brilliant books and essays, generous mentorship of younger scholars, and dedication to ASECS fostered the vibrant LGBTQ+ scholarship that thrives in our field today. The Haggerty Prize will be given annually to recognize both published articles (in odd-numbered years) and published books (in even-numbered years) on an alternating schedule.
