Program Committee Instructions

  1. Program Committee members have 2 rounds of submissions to reviews:
    • Round 1, Guaranteed Sessions: This round is for session submissions from Affiliates (who receive one guaranteed session) and Caucus Chairs (who receive 2 guaranteed sessions). Your responsibility to review that the sessions are appropriate for an academic conference on the long 18th century, and flag any potential issues (such as sessions that are similar in topic and scope, or that are inappropriate). You may suggest minor editing corrections for clarity. Sessions are not usually rejected in this round unless there are significant problems.
    • Round 2, General Sessions: This round is for anyone wishing to submit a session. Your responsibility to review that the sessions are appropriate for an academic conference on the long 18th century, evaluate their potential contributions to the conference, and flag any potential issues (such as sessions that are similar in topic and scope, or that are inappropriate, or that are not likely to fill). You may suggestmajor or minor editing corrections for clarity and to attract submissions. Sessions may be rejected in this round – there is not enough space for all sessions.
    • Round 3, Abstracts for Sessions: This round is for individuals applying to a session. Chairs reviews those sessions; the Program Committee may be called upon for advice.
    • Round 4, Rehoming and Individual Papers: This round is for individuals submitting an abstract who were not accepted in Round 3, or who did not apply in Round 3. The Program Committee may be called upon to suggest possible panels created with these papers.
