Travel Information

Please review the following information to ensure that you have the necessary travel documents
and to a lot the proper time to obtain and renew passports and visas.

Passport and Visa Requirements:

U.S. Citizens
U.S. citizens must carry proof of citizenship and identity. A valid U.S. passport or NEXUS card will
satisfy these requirements.

 Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months past the date of arrival in Canada. If you have less than 6 months, it may take longer to pass through Immigration.
 Renew your passport.
 Apply for a passport.

Note: Routine processing is 10 – 13 weeks. Expedited processing is between 7 – 9 weeks with an additional $60 charge at the time of this communication.

Non-U.S. Citizens
Citizens of countries other than the United States may have varying requirements and document
processing times. Please check Entry Requirements by Country or Territory.

Visa Exempt Nationals
Visa-exempt foreign nationals (excluding U.S. citizens) must apply online for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), ideally prior to booking their flight to Canada.

Letter of Invitation Request

An ASECS staff member will create a letter of invitation based on the information you provide within 3 business days. All fields are required and by the Canadian Border Services agency.  A letter of invitation does not guarantee that a visa will be issued.

You will need the following information to complete the form:

  • Complete legal name (as it shows on any travel documents)
  • Date of birth
  • Affiliation name and position
  • Address and telephone number (both work and home)
  • Approximate travel dates
