To support the pioneering research contributions of the next generation of scholars of eighteenth-century studies, this prize recognizes an outstanding research essay of 15-30 pages that has not been previously published.
The award will be presented at the Annual Meeting and the winner will receive $200.
In order to be eligible for this award, applicants must be Graduate Student members of ASECS at the time of submission. To submit an essay for consideration:
1) Upload a copy of the essay in Word or .pdf format, to this Google document. If using the form would create an obstacle to applying, please contact the Executive Director Benita Blessing (director@asecs.org) for an alternate format.
2) A letter of endorsement from a mentoring professor that outlines the original contributions that the essay makes to the field of eighteenth-century studies, should be sent to the committee chair.
3) Please contact the committee chair Amy Freund (afreund@mail.smu.edu) for questions and to submit the endorsement letter.
All materials must be received by January 1, 2024.
