AHA/Congressional Briefing on tariffs

The American Historical Association (AHA) will host a Congressional Briefing offering historical perspectives on tariffs. The briefing will take place on Wednesday, June 11, at 9:00 a.m. ET in Rayburn House Office Building Room 2075. Panelists Douglas A. Irwin (Dartmouth Coll.), Sharon Ann Murphy (Providence Coll.), and Eric Rauchway (Univ. of California, Davis) will discuss how the government has implemented tariffs in the past, and how they have impacted the domestic and global economy. The briefing is open to the public. If you’re based in DC and would like to attend, we encourage you to do so.
